The Netherlands is actually the European part of The Kingdom of the Netherlands (which is Netherlands, Netherlands Antilles, and Aruba, in the Caribbean). It IS often referred to as Holland, but North and South Holland are only two of it’s 12 provinces. The word Dutch refers to the people, language and anything related to the Netherlands.
