Why is the nation lacking a virile police?
It is not about Oyo State alone, it is general. Police is a creation of the society. What we have made the police to be is what they are and the police is also gaining from it by perpetrating insanity. The police should be taken care of. Their welfare should not be joked with. What I don’t find palatable is that the police are rejoicing in rot. How can a police chief go on air saying that there is no corruption in the police and that policemen on the road are not collecting N20 when they do so without hiding it. Q: Are you also saying that the economy is responsible for the increase in armed robbery? A: The economy is crucial. It is all about redistribution of wealth. It is a case of people making endowment fund by armed robbery. People who don’t have money must look for it at all costs. It is because people are not empowered. The system that cushions the insecure society is lacking. We don’t have a system that takes care of unemployed graduate youths and those people are intelligent.
