Why is the media ignoring the John Edwards case?

0

The Factor wanted to know why the national media has largely ignored the John Edwards paternity story, but jumped on the Gov. Mark Sanford infidelity story. New York Post columnist Linda Stasi and Fox News contributor Ellis Henican attempted to answer him. “Edwards was basically an irrelevant figure by the time the story broke,” Henican pointed out. He also thought that the media might be sympathetic to Edwards’ wife Elizabeth who is suffering from cancer. Stasi agreed with Henican’s first point: “Edwards is old news. You can throw him out with last week’s fish. Who cares?” Stasi also thought that the Sanford story was juicier: “How can you compare what this story is with a guy who went to Argentina and said he was walking the Appalachian Trail?” The Factor saw a pretty obvious reason for the disparity of coverage: “It’s because the press is corrupt… You both know this story is equal. Edwards and Sanford is equal. And the press isn’t covering it.
