Why is the Marquette General Foundation needed?
Marquette General Hospital provides health care to all patients, regardless of ability to pay for those services. In 2006 alone, Marquette General Health System provided more than $14 million in uncompensated care (no reimbursement received) to people of the Upper Peninsula. Gifts to Marquette General Foundation will help provide care to all the people in the U.P., as well as help to fund the most advanced medical care and technology including enhancing existing centers of excellence and developing new centers of excellence and building a permanent endowment.
