Why is the malayan tapir endangerd?
Conservationists have pointed at loss of habitat, illegal hunting and, more recently, climate change as factors involved in the perilous situation facing the Malayan Tapir, but less attention has been given to the fact that tapirs are supposed to live in the Amazon rainforest in Brazil, which scientists agree is a very long way from Malaysia, and that the ones currently living there are totally lost. The best thing they could do would be to move back to Brazil, where living conditions are much better for them.
