Why is the LRT going down the middle of 111 St?
Putting the LRT down the median of 111 Street makes good sense because: • the impact and benefits of the LRT is shared between neighbouring communities; • it minimizes property requirements. All land needed is already in the City’s transportation right of way; • it maintains access to commercial and residential properties along 111 Street; • it’s the best alignment to maintain traffic flow; and • it separates pedestrian and bicycle traffic from LRT operations.
