Why is the Library making course reserve lists and electronic reserves available through Chalk?
There are several reasons: • The Office of Legal Counsel has advised the Library to restrict access to electronic reserve materials to those students and faculty affiliated with the course for which the material is on reserve. The Chalk course management system provides an effective means for restricting materials to those for whom it is intended without creating burdensome work for staff or causing delays in reserve processing. • The Chalk interface makes it easier for students to find reserve materials. A recent survey of students found that many had difficulty locating materials in the Library reserve catalog using the Course and Instructor indexes.
