Why is the KUGB such a good organisation to be with?
Formed in 1966, The Karate Union of Great Britain is the largest single Shotokan Style organisation in the United Kingdom. It forms part of Karate England which has 100,000 members and as such is one of the largest Karate Organisations in the World. This gives you very important safeguards. • Your gradings will be recognised throughout the world • If you have any complaint about a club or any of it’s instructors there is a recognised Procedure, for investigating and dealing with any complaint. • Club instructors are put through the Enhanced Police checks and are usually First Aid trained. Due to the strict grading procedure KUGB Instructors are of the highest standard. • There are over 350 KUGB Clubs all over the UK, so if you move you will find one locally. • The KUGB has an elected chairman and executive officers and each region has elected Representatives. Any KUGB member can stand for office. • The KUGB is set up as a non profit making organisation for the furtherance of Karate. •
