The economy is obviously the more important issue and there’s not much to say about Iraq except that we will be leaving. McCain tried to bring up the surge but no one is interested and the Bush administration is currently trying to negotiate a withdrawal that actually makes McCain’s position look foolish. The Iraqi Parliament has to vote on the timelines and any conditions. Obama probably doesn’t want to to be seen as prejudicing the current negotiations in any way and McCain really has nothing to say. Some people seem to forget that Obama opposed this war from the beginning which has contributed to his popularity. In addition, he has been advocating a timeline for withdrawal. His judgment on Iraq has been excellent.
