Why is the inspection decal necessary if Transport Canada already provides operators with an inspection certificate?
Vessel operators are require to post their Inspection Certificate or Notice of Inspection in a visible location. However, these documents are often posted inside the vessel, protected from the weather and sometimes away from the view of passengers. A decal program was developed to make it easier for passengers to recognize that the vessel has been inspected and certified.
