Why is the HPC only open to residents 3 days/week?
The HPC is open year round and residents can use the facility year-round. On days the HPC is closed, staff is processing the hazardous waste you brought us. Often HPC staff is required to utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) such as a full face respirator or a tyvek to process hazardous waste. Wearing PPE protects HPC staff from hazardous volatile environments which can pose an immediate danger to life and health.
