Why is the horn honking and light flashing on my 2000 Lincoln LS?

0

I went to start my 2000 Lincoln LS and it tried to turn over and died. The after a few minutes the lights flashed and the horn honked. Now when I went back to it just opening the door made the lights flash and horn honk. I’m assuming this is some sort of error code and I’m hoping this is just a dead battery, but, this seems like a lot of hoopla for a dead battery. I can’t find the codes anywhere and the shops are closed. A: My car did that when the battery died. I have a different kind of car, but it was because the car thought I was trying to jump start it to steal it. I had to wait for it to reset and make sure i unlocked it with the key. Also make sure if you have one of those keys with the chips in it that’s it’s near the steering wheel when you’re turning it on. If you’ve lost that and it’s required for your car it could cause the same problem. Once I got a new battery the problem went away. I actually ended up getting it towed to the shop because it wouldn’t allow me to start it
