Why is the head and stomach of our baby measuring to big for the rest of it?
This doesn’t indicate a problem, especially if everything has been fine up until this point. If the technician was very worried about your unborn baby he or she would have referred you for a second opinion and another ultrasound with a more experienced technician or a obstetrician. At this point it’s perfectly normal for the abdominal circumference and head circumference to measure large. This is usually an indicator of a larger baby but is not always accurate at estimating weight in the uterus or weight at birth. For example, my daughter’s head and abdominal circumference were measuring at 37 weeks when I was 33 weeks but I knew the exact date I conceived so my dates weren’t wrong. She was born at 39 weeks a healthy 9lb 7.5oz with no health problems. This time around I’m 34 weeks and my baby is measuring at 38 weeks AC and HC so I’m expecting another larger baby according to the scans since my baby doesn’t have any other problems detectable.
