Why is the green turtle endangered?
The green turtle was previously a popular ingredient for turtle soup and it was therefore severely hunted. The commercial hunting during the last centuries led to the collapse of many turtle populations from which it is still recovering. The green turtle is also threatened by the rapid vanishing of beaches suitable to nesting, fish nets, garbage floating in the sea and the rise of the sea level due to climate change. How can I help?
