Why is the Grass around the Lake sometimes allowed to grow so high?
The grass around the lake is owned by Orange County and they are responsible for its maintenance. They sometimes fall behind with the mowing, especially during high growth seasons. Tall grass can be dangerous and provide hiding places for snakes and alligators so all residents are encouraged to report the condition to the county by calling 3-1-1. The more calls they receive, the sooner they will likely address the problem.
