Why is the Gold Coast Indy Carnival exempt from the statewide lockout?
Licensees on the Gold Coast will be exempt from the lockout during the Indy Carnival, which replicates existing arrangements. The Indy Carnival is a major tourist attraction on the Gold Coast and the additional security measures put in place throughout the carnival period work to minimise alcohol related disturbances.
