Why is the frontier significant in Native American history?
Many have always lived in the frontier and they were getting moved out. The Battle of the Wounded knee symbolized the end of the frontier because the white soldiers took Indian land. they set up cannons and took weapons from the Indians before attacking them. The soldiers attacked indiscriminately and hunted people down and murdered them brutally. The Indians tired to protect themselves and their position on the frontier by the ghost dance, which united all of the Indians together under one cause and to leaders, Sitting Bull and Big Foot.
