Why is the First Impressions Team Extremely Important?
• You are the first impression people have of FBC. Guests will determine how they feel about FBC based on how they are initially greeted. • One important factor in first-time guests coming to visit again is a pleasant experience on their first visit. • Research indicates that most first-time guests will decide if they will return before they hear the pastor’s message. • Ushers, greeters, the church staff, and the pastor form an important team for helping experience God. • To the first-time guests, we are the church. • We need to be able to: project warmth, give needed direction, and be a servant. • We must help overcome the normal first-time guest feelings of nervousness, fearfulness, and insecurity.
