Why is the female Spotted Hyenas urogenital system called as unique ,in the animal world ?
Because it deceives us into believing that Spotted Hyena’s are Hermaphrodite while it is not. In the later stages of pregnancy, the female mother is believed to induce into the prospective cub an extra dose of androgen which produces more testosterone qualities along with development of male reproductive organs in the females calling them as alpha females by some. This is unique with the Spotted hyena’s along with their quality and capability to produce sounds resembling laugh.
