Why is the Eyre Peninsula on a different level of water restrictions?

0

The Eyre Peninsula sources most of its water from groundwater supplies. While many of the reservoirs in other parts of the State have benefited from recent rains, water supplies on the Peninsula remain diminished and restrictions must stay in force. As of Wednesday 1 July 2009 Eyre Peninsula will be subject to Level 3 Enhanced Water Restrictions in response to a further deterioration in groundwater recharge in the region’s aquifers.
