Why is the ESL test important?
Programs at RVCC require a demonstrated level of proficiency in English. The results of the ESL Placement Test will be used to determine whether a student needs to improve their English skills prior to beginning college-level coursework. Once the need for ESL is determined, students will begin taking courses in Grammar, Reading/Writing or Speaking and Listening based on their placement test level.
