Why is the Electric Kamado so heavy?
There are three main functional reasons that makes the Electric Kamado so heave. First, the thick ceramic walls provides a “thermal mass” which does most of the cooking. It is the electric element, placed inside, which heats the walls. Secondly, the thick heavy walls provides uniform temperature inside the cooking area. Lastly, the ceramic walls retain and radiate the heat long after the heat source is turned off or goes out.
