Why is the East Flagstaff Community Library open on Sundays and the Main Library is closed?
Several years ago, there was a financial crunch at the city/county and the library budget was cut. We either had to buy fewer books or reduce hours, so it was decided to open the East Flagstaff Community Library on Sundays but close the Main Library. One factor that goes into that decision is it only takes two employees to run the East Flagstaff Community Library on a Sunday, but it takes 15 – 20 staff members to keep the Main Library open.
