Why is the district putting effort into providing laptops to instructional staff? Shouldn’t students be getting them too?
It is the district’s goal to provide full, equitable, up-to-date access to technology for all. We’re not just concerned with computers, but with Internet access and with peripherals like interactive whiteboards, document cameras and more. Accomplishing this goal is very expensive, so we’re taking a phased approach. Our research indicates that there’s a significant advantage to providing mobile technology to teachers a minimum of a year in advance of related student initiatives.
