Why is the digital signal of WDSU-TV not available on the Cox system?
Hearst-Argyle Television, parent of WDSU-TV and Cox Communications, parent of the local Cox cable systems, are involved in a negotiation to ensure that you can receive the programming on your local Hearst-Argyle digital TV station that you have come to depend on. Our company has spent tens of millions of dollars on equipment to provide you with digital television including high-definition digital television (HDTV). This is in addition to the substantial amounts of money we spend annually at WDSU-TV to bring you the best possible network, syndicated (i.e., Entertainment Tonight) and, most importantly, local news programming. By failing to accept our proposal for fair compensation, Cox has elected not to make it possible for you to receive this digital Hearst-Argyle channel. Cox has been charging you for access to our digital signal (via monthly digital box fees). Cox refuses to compensate us fairly for these channels for which they have been charging you (via monthly digital box fees).
