Why is the difference between halal and non-halal food?

Food that is prepared in the Halal way means food that is allowed to be eaten according to the Islamic law. (Although the word Halal is also related to things like clothing and behaviour). Halal food must be prepared in a certain way, the animal has to be slaughtered according to tradition. Non-halal food is just… food, lol. No rules, just kill and eat, basically.
