Why is the detection of activated TFs important?

0

In the area of signal dependant TFs the presence of transcripts (mRNA, analyzed with qPCR or microarrays for gene expression) gives no information about the biological activity of the corresponding gene product (protein). Analysis in western blot (e.g.) can only visualize the presence of the proteins but do not provide any information about their activity. By the TF Chips from Eppendorf the activated status of 8 / 12 signal dependant TFs, related to stem cell differentiation or cell signaling, can be analyzed in one multiplex assay.
