Why is the cresent Moon the symbol of Islam?
The crescent moon and a star are actually *not* a symbol of Islam, since original Islam has no symbols. But it is true that many Muslims today consider it to be their symbol. It’s because it used to be a symbol of the Ottoman Empire, and as we know it was due to the OE that Islam was mostly spread. Most countries conquered by Ottomans took their symbol later on.
