Why is the County Assembly suspended at one point in the agenda to hold the Convention and other Assemblies?
Typically the final County Assembly agenda item is the writing of the Party Platform (Report of the Resolutions Committee). This can be very time-consuming. Often the Assembly will complete as much as it can within the time constraints of the meeting, and then vote to continue at a later meeting. The suspension and resumption ensure that all other business is completed regardless of how long the platform work may take.
