Why is the Clubhouse named Facing Us?
In the fall of 2007, DBSA launched Facing Us, a national campaign to highlight the ‘face’ of depression and bipolar disorder and to supply tools to those ‘facing’ the challenges of living with these illnesses. The Facing Us Clubhouse is where these tools are housed. The campaign was, and the Clubhouse is, aimed at bringing mood disorders out of the shadows; humanizing those with these illnesses; and helping those diagnosed to create a reality where they face a better future.
