Why is the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act important?
The Chesapeake Bay Preservation Act (CBPA) is important in the protection of lands which if improperly developed would contribute to the significant degradation of the water quality of the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. The DOD is a signatory to an agreement supporting the CBPA and its associated regulations and will comply to the maximum extent possible consitent with the military mission and budget constraints.
