Why is the CFM rating of Can Fans lower than competing brands?
All of the CFM ratings for Can Fans and Max-Fans are certified by the Air Movement and Control Association International (AMCA) to be a true rating of the total cubic feet per minute moved, using several testings in different locations in the path of the air. Basically, more air is moved around the rim of the fan (because the blades are moving faster on the outside) and much less is moved in the dead center. Other companies give you the “max rating” along the edge, while the Can Group gives you the real world rating that is used industry wide.
