Why is the cartoon strip called Public Service Announcement?

0

As I mentioned before, the cartoon strip used to be called Stig’s Stribe which means “Stig’s Strip” in English. Needless to say, when I started thinking about bringing the cartoon strip online to an international audience, I thought the name Stig’s Strip could be misleading and a misrepresentation of what this website actually was! I came up with Public Service Announcement as a tongue in cheek way of describing the content of the cartoon – I’m “serving” you, the public, with my ideas and thoughts… my announcements, if you will. Also, it’s nice to shorten down to: PSA. To read more about who I am and my work, see the article here that my current employer Fyens Stiftstidende brought about me Can I use your cartoons? Cartoons are a great asset for any kind of publication, and they work well in many different medias, both analog and digital. You’ll be surprised how much cartoons actually mean for the reader, and what a difference a good cartoon can do to their day. Flat rates for cartoo
