Check the level of coolant in the reservoir. Fill it if required. Also check for any leaks. Not having any fluid in the cooling system may mean there is a fluid leak. Check to see if there is any blockage in or around the radiator. The radiator cap may need to be replaced if it cant hold system pressure. Check the cooling fan operation as well. Of coarse, a replacement of the thermostat may be necessary. 6.) Why is there a noise coming from the engine? Open the hood and check the oil level. The noise may occur because the oil is low or contaminated. An oil and filter change is recommended. Do not overfill the oil!
