Why is the building being located on West 9th Street and not next to the middle school?
Building site standards call for 13 acres for an elementary school of this size. The area next to the middle school does not meet that standard. The area next to the middle school is needed for football practice and middle school outdoor activities. Putting another 450 students at the high school and middle school location would add to the traffic congestion in that area of town and it would be difficult to design the site to take into consideration traffic safety issues.
