Why is the bradford coat of arms designed like this?

I just wish I had the coat of arms here for reference (but haven’t – I now live in Cornwall). But I do seem to recall the wild boar – I think that’s on it. There’s a story about hunters chasing the last wild boar around Great Horton. They ran it to ground in Hunt Yard (hence the name) and killed it. I think this was the last wild boar in England. As far as I know, the Boar’s Head carol was written about this poor beast. I went to Bolling Grammar school, and the school was heavily into the boar’s head legend. I’m sorry, that’s all I know off the top of my head. Long time since I saw the coat of arms (or sang the carol!), but I hope this helps a bit.
