Why is the birth of jesus the same day and the death of jesus change?
Well, we don’t know exactly what time of year Jesus was born. Early Christians decided to observe it in late December because they could easily hide their festivities among the Roman holiday Saturnalia, a festival that lasted several days during which gifts were exchanged. Actually we get our tradition of gift giving from Saturnalia. It was probably another coverup for the Christians, who were heavily persecuted at the time. Jesus probably wasn’t born on the exact date that we observe His birth. My friend, who’s a Messianic Jew (a Jew who believes Jesus is the Messiah), celebrates the birth of Christ in October, during the Feast of Tabernacles. However, we do know from the Gospel writers that Jesus died sometime during or shortly after Passover–the Last Supper was a Passover Seder. And since the Jewish callander is different from the callander which we use, Passover is constant on the Jewish callander but not constant on our callander.
