Why is the Bible so readily accepted as the absolute core that people should live by?
Let me address one part of you question first and then answer the main part, It has been translated many, many times and some of those translations are better than others but I have to say that I can read Greek and Hebrew, although admittedly not Aramaic although very little was written in anything other than Hebrew or Greek. The translations that are widely respected are VERY close to the Greek and Hebrew texts of the Old Testament and New Testament texts. The variations that there are are almost all easy to decipher, easy to see what happened (copying error and wrote the same word twice, or skipped a line, etc.,) and largely don’t have any significant difference theologically one way or the other. I’ve heard that argument many times but it really isn’t true that there is so much variation.
