Why is the Bible Lesson no longer available online for free?
The Bible Lessons are central to the practice of Christian Science, and great value is assigned to their content. Typically, readers have paid for the content either through subscriptions or through single-copy purchases at Christian Science Reading Rooms. In recent years, digital audio and video formats, and the Internet, have enabled people to experience the Bible Lessons in new ways. Given the newness of these formats, a decision was made not to charge for them initially. During this time, The Christian Science Publishing Society has experienced erosion of its Bible Lesson subscription revenue. Now that technology allows us to present digital formats in a cohesive manner, we plan to begin charging for the digital content as we have always charged for this same content in print and audio formats.
