Why is the battery monitor reporting very high or negative currents?

0

Very occasionally the Series 5 battey monitor will report very high (>500 mA) or negative battery currents. These are sometime caused by a dropped IR link and seem to be due to the battery monitor losing its ‘zero’ setting. Powering the Series 5 from the PC Card adaptor can also cause strange battery readings. To fix close all applications, back-up and poke the end of a paper-clip into the reset hole beside the backup battery. You will lose the battery statistics but the monitor will be restored to its normal accuracy.
