Testing indicated that the performance of the elevated feed 3dB antenna (the longer one) was very similar to the shorter 3 dB antenna. The shorter base antenna allowed system designers to effectively shrink the size of the base RTK kit to the size of a RTK rover kit so the shorter antenna is now the standard for RTK bases.
