Why is the Australian Government reviewing funding for schooling arrangements?

0

Education is critical to the future prosperity of every child and the nation. For this reason, the Australian Government announced the Review of Funding for Schooling in April 2010, to create the best possible platform for long term investment and improvement in the educational outcomes of Australian students beyond 2013. This is the first comprehensive Government review of school funding in over 30 years. It provides a genuine opportunity to look at the funding arrangements we have in place now and to see how well they support the achievement of all students. The review aims to achieve a funding system for the period beyond 2013 which is transparent, fair, financially sustainable and effective in promoting excellent educational outcomes for all Australian students.
