Why is the auction time extended?
PropertyRoom.com’s Auto Bid Extend feature ensures that bidders will always have a chance to challenge bids placed in the last minute of an auction. It also prevents an unfair practice called “sniping” in which bidders use special software to place very small incremental bids in the last seconds trying to run down the clock. PropertyRoom.com auctions work just like live auctions. The auctions close when the bidding activity stops. If a bid is placed during the last minute of an auction, the auction will be extended automatically for an additional minute from the time of the latest bid. The auction will close once all bidding activity has stopped for a period of 1 minute.
