Why is the Age Concern Guaranteed Funeral Plan only available to customers aged 65 and over?
A. To make the Age Concern Guaranteed Funeral Plan affordable‚ the business took the decision to use the 65 year age as a cut off. If the Guaranteed Funeral Plan was made available to all people below the age of 65 then the Plan would have been too expensive thus making it unaffordable. People nowadays are living longer and longer. In fact some of the 65 year olds that are alive today will live for another 40 years or more. With a funeral plan it can be a long time between purchase and use; within this period there may be many unforeseen changes/events which we cannot account for or predict. This means we cannot offer the Age Concern Guaranteed Funeral Plan to people aged 65 and under‚ as we simply do not know what will happen that far into the future. As part of the Age Concern Funeral Plan offering when a non Guaranteed Plan holder turns 65‚ they will have an option to take out the Age Concern Guaranteed Funeral Plan.
