Why is the ABU the only Air Force uniform not allowing the Air Force command insignia?

0

Every other uniform in the Air Force inventory requires this particular insignia as mandatory. The ABU was developed to be an “all environment” uniform — in garrison and deployed. Therefore, patches and certain badges are not authorized for wear. The intent is that no alterations, such as removal of patches and badges, should be required when individuals move from one environment to the other. The ABU evolved to ease Airman’s deployment transitions and reinforce the “one team, one fight,” or one uniform, concept.
