Why is Thames Water including allotments in the hosepipe ban when other water companies are not?
They appreciate that there is a degree of confusion amongst water users in the South-East of England with regards to the status of allotments under the current hosepipe and sprinkler ban. The current hosepipe ban prohibits the watering of “private gardens” with hosepipe or similar apparatus. They take the firm view that “private gardens” includes allotments, though they are aware that some may disagree.
