Why is Taga heavier than a regular stroller?
As opposed to a standard stroller that carries a child, Taga is a bike that has to carry an adult and up to two children. It carries heavier loads and travels at higher speeds, so its frame has to be thicker and thus heavier. That said, Taga is designed to be easy to wrangle. If you need to store it in a car, Taga can be separated to 3 parts with a maximum weight of 10kg/22 lbs each. And the large wheels make it easy to ascend stairs, which compensates for the extra weight. Taga weighs about the same as a regular city bike with a child seat. And is lighter when you compare it to other carrier bikes which weigh-in at about 35-45kg/77-99lbs.
