Why is Swiss Roots being financed primarily with public funds?
The promotion of Switzerland’s image is primarily a mission of the national government. Funds from private industry can reinforce an image promotion program in a secondary manner. Private companies are willing to make a commitment if it allows them to reach target groups that are of commercial interest to them. In the case of Swiss Roots, private sector companies prove willing to sponsor individual events rather than supporting the program as a whole.
