Why is SuperVent Chimney packed with insulation?
A. The 1″ of solid packed insulation is both a safety and a performance feature. The primary purpose of a chimney system is to keep flue gases hot for enhanced draft of the appliance and to keep the building materials around the chimney cool for safety. The 1″ of premium fibre insulation used in SuperVent JSC provide more thermal protection than chimneys constructed with “blanket” type insulation, or a Triple Wall chimney. This helps keep high flue gas temperatures within the chimney.
