Why Is Subject Line In Note Missing First Character?

Recently when I send an e-mail it omits the first character in the subject line. I check the send file and it’s correct on there, however, when my clients respond the first character is missing. I did a test and sent a note to another e-mail and indeed the first character is missing. HELP!
